Pouch for Crystals

A washable, breathable, comfy cozy for carrying crystals next to your body. Tuck between your "girls" or your pocket. Use a few yards of any soft cotton fingering yarn. Gauge is unimportant.


Pattern is written in US terms.

MATERIALS
  • Cotton fingering yarn
  • Size D / 3 / 3.25 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle

ABBREVIATIONS
  • ch - chain
  • dc - double crochet
  • ea - each
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • hdc2tog - half double crochet 2 together decrease
  • rep - repeat
  • rnd - round
  • sl st - slip stitch
  • st(s) - stitch(es)

NOTE:  Ch-2 at beginning of row counts as first dc or hdc.

1.  RND 1:  Magic ring, ch 2, 11 dc, join with sl st to 2nd ch. Pull tail to draw ring tightly closed. (12 sts)
2.  RND 2:  Ch 2, dc in same st, 2 dc in ea st around, join with sl st to 2nd ch. (24 sts)
3.  RND 3:  Ch 2, dc in same st, * dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, rep from * around, join with sl st to 2nd ch. (36 sts)
4.  RND 4:  Ch 2, dc in same st, * dc in next st, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, rep from * around, join with sl st to 2nd ch. (48 sts)
5.  Thread center tail onto yarn needle and weave through center stitches a few times; cut excess.
6.  RND 5:  Ch 2, * hdc2tog, hdc, hdc, rep from * around, join with sl st to 2nd ch. (36 sts)
7.  RND 6 to about 10:  Ch 2, * [hdc2tog, hdc, hdc] OR [hdc2tog, hdc], rep from * around, join with sl st to 2nd ch... continue decrease rows until st count is about 12.
8.  Fasten off leaving about a 6-inch tail. Continuing in the same direction as crocheting, weave tail through front loop of ea st around. Insert crystals. Pull tail as a drawstring to cinch pouch closed. Tie a slip knot near the cinch to secure.
